Quintessential LLC is a member of MBP-AECOM joint venture team, providing construction management services on multi-year Architect of the Capitol contract
Woodbridge, Virginia – Quintessential Construction Managers & Consultants, LLC was awarded a contract in January 2015 to provide Administrative (Project Support) Services to the MBP-AECOM Construction Management Services Team. McDonough Bolyard Peck (MBP), in joint venture with AECOM, was selected by the Architect of the Capitol (AOC) for a multi-year renovation contract to provide Construction Management as Agent services for the renewal of the Cannon House Office Building in Washington, D.C.

The project involves replacing or upgrading all major building systems to include complete renewal/modernization to meet all applicable codes. The building will remain occupied and operational for the duration of the renewal program.
MBP-AECOM joint venture team will provide design assistance and pre-construction services and full construction management consulting services including critical path method scheduling, building information modeling, commissioning, and claims avoidance.
The Cannon House Office Building is a five-story building with a full basement and multi-level parking garage. Built in 1908, it is the oldest congressional office building on Capitol Hill and includes offices for members of the U.S. House of Representatives and a number of Congressional committees.
The building has not received a major renovation since the 1930s. The current renovation began in 2014 and is expected to last 10 years. The initial stages of the work is already underway. Members of Congress and their staffs will not need to relocate until December 2016, one month prior to Phase 1 of the project.
During the initial phase of the Cannon Renewal Project, workers are focusing on updating building utilities, primarily in the basement and moat area of the courtyard.
